William Roger Kyle, age 74, of Monroe, NC passed away April 3rd after a battle with Leukemia. He was born in 1948 in North Wilkesboro, NC to William W Kyle and Lola Cecile. In 2001, Roger married his wife, best friend and travel partner of twenty-two years, Carol Kyle. Roger was a long time employee at the South Charlotte Home Depot where he loved helping others. Roger was a bowling league member for decades and loved spending time at the bowling alley going after that perfect score every week. Roger's flare for style whether it be a Hawaiian shirt, fun hat or bright colored clothes was unmatched. You could typically hear Roger coming before you saw him when he would pull up in his beloved Mustang named Black Betty. He loved all things about fast cars and racing. Whether it was bringing his family to the drag races every single spring and fall, cheering on NASCAR at home or racing around the track or being a member of the Carolina Regional Mustang Club, he was hooked on fast cars. Above all this, Roger was a family man. Roger had a large family and would look forward to the days where the house was full of people, food and mostly laughter.
Roger is proceeded in death by his father and mother, William W. Kyle and wife Lola Cecile, two brothers, David Cannon and Reggie Kyle, a sister, Clella Coffey and a son, William Keith Kyle. His sister, Geraldine Jones and his brother, Ricky Kyle and his wife Eva. His eight grandchildren, Justin Greer, Dani Kyle, Chad Kyle, Courtney Shue, Alec Shue, Ziggy Siler, Scarlet Kyle and Hailey Brown.
