Wade Derrell Hopkins

Wade Derrell Hopkins, 73, of Waxhaw, NC passed away Friday, April 2, 2021. Wade was born in Charlotte, NC, April 16, 1947 to Wade D and Mazie (Hinson) Hopkins. Wade was married to the late Alice (Younts) Hopkins, was an accountant and had been in the U S Army during the Vietnam era.

Wade was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a big sports fan who followed baseball, football, basketball and Nascar racing. He had a collection of car tags the he changed out often on his front bumper. He was predeceased by his parent and wife Alice and by an infant brother.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Melissa Rae Keziah and her husband Richard of Waxhaw, NC, a son Matthew Hopkins and his wife Jennifer of Houma, LA, a granddaughter Alexandria Alexander and her husband Trevor of Indian Trail, NC, a granddaughter Abby Lirette and her husband Caleb of Houma, LA, a grandaughter Alyssa Hopkins of Houma, LA and a granddaughter Brittanie Rice of Houma, LA. Grandsons, Cameron and Travis Keziah of Waxhaw and Sean Hopkins of Houma, LA.
