Obituary
Svetlana Ivanovna Kobzar, 71 went home to be with the Lord on June 4, 2022. She was born on September 24, 1950 in Monchegorsk, Russia to Ivan and Maria Borisenko.
When she was 17, she left her childhood home and moved to Rostov-on-Don, where she met Jesus and her lifelong love and husband Vasiliy. They had six children and last April celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
Svetlana was deeply loved by her family, friends and the church family. She was a person who always was there to listen and help in anyway she could. Her heart was extended to the hurting and broken. Everybody in her presence would benefit from her heartfelt compassion, generosity, and kindness. She was a woman of faith, prayer and powerful intercessor. Her love for Jesus and other people had no bounds. Svetlana will be so missed, but we are confident that as she stepped into eternity she was greeted by her Creator with the words: “Well done, good and faithful servant…. Enter into the joy of your Lord.”
Svetlana was survived by her husband, Vasiliy: her children and grandchildren: Daughter Oksana Argueta, son in love Saul Argueta: Son Yevgeniy Kobzar, daughter in love Natalie Kobzar, grandchildren Aleksandr, Celine, Benjamin, and Nathaniel: Son Dmitriy Kobzar, daughter in love Jackie Kobzar, grandchildren Dmitriy and Nina: Son Yaroslav Kobzar, daughter in love Rocco Kobzar, grandchild Parker: Daughter Olesya Meeks, son in love Jacob Meeks, grandchild Dean: Daughter Elizabeth Kobzar, grandchild Adrian.
Life and Legacy is humbled to be entrusted to handle the arrangements for the Kobzar Family. A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 11:00 am in the sanctuary of Joy Church located at 11516 Idlewild Road in Matthews, NC. Services will begin promptly at 12:00 pm followed by graveside prayers at Evergreen Cemetery located at 4426 Central Avenue in Charlotte, NC.
