Steven Thomas Potts, 46, of Monroe North Carolina passed away peacefully January 28, 2024, in Charlotte North Carolina after a brief illness. Steven was born on February 24, 1977, in Leonardtown, MD.
Grieving the loss of their son are his mother Nancy Ford and father Nick Potts. Steven was also blessed with his bonus dad Dan Ford who also grieves his loss. He leaves behind the love of his life Jamie, whom he married on Halloween in 2016. Halloween is Jamie's favorite Holiday. Steven is survived by his sibling Shelby Ford.
Upon graduating from Leonardtown High School, he joined the US Army where he served from 1996-2003. There he earned the following awards and medals; Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Good Conduct, National Defense Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Over Seas Service Ribbon, NATO Medal, Driver and Mechanic Badge, Army Lapel Ribbon, Kosovo Campaign Medal with 1 Bronze Star. He loved serving his country. The US Army also started Steven on his career path as a Master Mechanic. Once Steven was honorably discharged from Active Duty, he continued his passion for working on vehicles. He was currently employed by Shamrock Auto, but enjoyed many years prior working with Keffer Chrysler Dodge Jeep and Ram. When Steven's hands weren't busy working on vehicles his yard was his second passion. He took pride in his plants and banana trees that grew 8 foot tall. From childhood to adulthood, his love for Ninja Turtles and Marvel never faded. His favorites were Captain America and The Hulk. He will not only be missed by family and friends but also his fur babies, Tipsy and Dexter.
A memorial gathering will be held for Steven on February 7, 2024 from 5-7 pm in the Good Shepherd Chapel of Life and Legacy Funeral Home located at 6525 Old Monroe Road, Indian Trail, NC 28079. This will be a casual gathering where people will be encouraged to share their favorite stories of Steven.
