Roy Oxentine Obituary

Roy "Lee" Oxentine Jr., age 62, was born on September 19, 1961 in Charlotte, North Carolina to Roy and Christine Oxentine. He passed away on October 28, 2023 while under the care of Pruitt Rehabilitation.

Roy, or "Lee" as everyone knew him was a very happy individual who got his joy out of making jokes and kidding around with people. He always had a joke to share. He was a professional cabinetmaker and craftsman by trade. He suffered a debilitating stroke that landed him in rehabilitation facilities for the remainder of his life. However, he never allowed that to define him. He took his disabilities and turned them into inspiration for others. Always letting people know that they can conquer anything if they only believe. Before his illness, Lee loved scuba diving, cooking, fishing and gardening. Lee's family wants everyone to remember him as someone who loved Christ and serving others. He loved to make people happy.

Lee is proceeded in death by his parents. Left to cherish his memory are his his three children, William Lee Oxentine, Richard J. Oxentine and Sarah G. Oxentine. His sister and brother, Freita O. McGinnis and her husband John and Kristopher Oxentine and his wife Beth. He also leaves his granddaughter, Keira E. Oxentine. Plus many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on November 2, 2023 in the Fireside Room of the West Cabarrus Church located at 7655 Bruton Smith Road, Concord, NC. 28027. Church will start receiving guests at 6 pm and will end approximately 8:00 pm. A private family memorial for Lee will be held at a later time.
