Robert Alan Deakin

Robert Alan Deakin, 73, of Matthews, NC, passed away at his home, Friday, August 7, 2020. He was born in Stuttgart, Germany on May 10, 1947 to George R and Sara (Wallace) Deakin. He served in the United States Air Force and received a Bachelors Degree from the University of Maine.  On December 8, 1984 he was married to Jacqueline C Arellano. Robert retired from Carl Zeiss Industrial Microscopy were he worked as a mechanical engineer. He was a humble, kind and generous man who could fix anything. He loved to cook and work in the garden and was a devoted husband and father. He and his loving wife Jackie enjoyed 35 years of marriage together. He was preceded in death by his father George R Deakin, his sister Carol Deakin and his brother-in-law Johnny Wilkerson

Left to cherish his memory are, his wife Jackie of Matthews, NC, his mother Sara Deakin, of Thomasville, NC, His son Alan Michael Deakin, of Matthews, NC, his daughter Camille Awalt and her husband Kevin, of Simpsonville, SC, his grandson Brandon Busse, his sister, Camille Wilkerson of Kernersville, NC.

Services for Robert will be private and held at the convenience of his family.
