Rafael E Vimbela

Rafael E. Vimbela, age 81 was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador on February 21, 1942 to the late Geraldo and Elisa Vimbela and passed away peacefully at his home on October 28, 2023 while surrounded by those he cherished. 

Rafael was a very passionate man. He was a dreamer who became a man of action and resilience. He loved soccer, listening to music, going on walks, but his greatest passion was the time he spent with his family. 

He is preceded in death by his parents. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Mariana Bozano Vimbela and his three children; Marianita Vimbela, Peggy Cornejo and her husband Angel and Andrew Vimbela. He also leaves a grandson to whom he adored, Christopher Cornejo. 

A visitation will be held October 30, 2023 for all family and friends starting at 5:30 pm and concluding at 7:30 pm in the Good Shepherd Chapel at Life and Legacy Funerals and Cremations located at 6525 Old Monroe Road, Indian Trail, NC 28079. A private family mass will be conducted by Father Benjamin Roberts of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church of Monroe before the visitation.
