Paul Steven Cooper

Paul Steven Cooper, age 65, of Monroe, NC passed away peacefully on Friday, April 8, 2022 while in the care of Hospice of Union County surrounded by his family. Steve was born in Monroe on Wednesday September 12, 1956 to Paul H and Della Ruth (Love) Cooper

Steve was a loving son, husband, father and grandfather who had been a volunteer firefighter with Baker’s Fire Dept for many years beginning in 1974. Steve loved racing and every car show he could get to. He loved racing his own S-10 Chevy truck.

Steve is predeceased by his father and mother and brother Johnny Cooper. Left to cherish his memory are, his daughters Stephanie Strawn and her husband Sammy, Jamie Welch and her husband Chris, his brother Michael Cooper and his wife Rebecca Foster, his uncle Dennis Love and his wife Cathy, his granddaughters Hanna Cooper and Ali Threatt, his grandsons Joshua Garcia, Tyler Threatt and Trey Threatt.

Funeral services for Paul will be held Wednesday, April 13, 2022 from 1:00 till 2:00 pm in the Good Shepherd Chapel at Life and Legacy Funeral Home located at 6525 Old Monroe Road, Indian Trail, NC 28079. Interment will take place immediately following the services at Lakeland Memorial Gardens located on Lancaster Blvd, Monroe, NC.
