Patsy A. Stewart, age 78, was born Tuesday, June 12, 1945 in Mobile, Alabama to Jerry and Alice Mims. She passed away peacefully at her Dillon, South Carolina home on March 5, 2024 while surrounded by her devoted husband of over forty-eight years, David Stewart and various other members of her loving family.
Patsy was a huge personality. She loved to laugh and be loud. Her and her husband David would sit on the front porch every night and waive at everyone who went by. From the cars you would hear, "Hey Mrs, Pat, Hey Pop!" What time she wasn't waiving she was watching David wash the cars or do the yard work. She loved a pretty yard with beautiful flowers. Patsy loved to shop and to just get in a car and travel. She didn't care where she was going as long as it was somewhere. She was very involved in her community seniors circle and always loved to tell people about what the Lord had done for her. She adored her family and all of the grand babies. Patsy was in simple words, "A community Mother to all."
Proceeded in death were her parents, four sisters, Willanell Whitehurst (Mickie), Voncile Nunez, Susan and Beverly Mims. Four brothers, Russell, Larry, Jerry (Junebug) and Michael Mims. Left to cherish her memory is her husband, David Stewart, her son, Craig Prothro and two daughters, Kelly Atkins and Terri Stewart. Four sisters, Janet Barrett, Patricia Mims, Betty Ballard and Brunetta Mims-Prince. Two brothers, Carlton and Marlon Mims. Her precious grands, Davonte, Laquanna, Cory, Tameka, Kierra, Asia, Sahaj Rael and Ava. She leaves a heritage throughout her five great-grand-babies and a host of nieces and nephews. Finally, she also leaves her beloved white child, David L Cook.
