Miss Olivia "Livy" Grace Melendez, 5, passed away October 7, 2020 in the Levine Children's Hospital in Charlotte. She was born November 3, 2014 to Eric and Sarah Conarroe Melendez in Charlotte.

Miss Livy was a sweet little girl with an affectious smile. She was a kindergartener at Poplin Elementary School in her favorite teacher, Ms Loderick's, class. She loved playing with the children of the neighborhood and classmates. Livy loved unicorns, makeup, painting her nails, skateboards and playing outside.

Those left to cherish Livy's memory include: her parents Eric and Sarah Melendez; sister Aniyah Kay Melendez; paternal grandmother Mayra Figueroa; maternal grandfather David B. Conarroe; uncles Giovanni Hernandez, Joel Ortiz, Gary Rosado and Jose Medina; aunts Claribel Quiñones, Marie Melendez, Melissa Conarroe, Denys Ortiz and Nashaly Ortiz; godparents Jonathan Diaz and Jennifer Arias; special "aunts" Kathy Mujica, Janene Mujica and Linette Maldonado and her dogs MamaBehr and Marley. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother Susan K. Conarroe and uncle Joshua Conarroe.

The family would like to express their appreciation for all the love and support they have received from the community and friends. A very special thank you to the many who have called, messaged and prayed for them as they have gone thru this most difficult time; many of whom they could not make it without. Special thanks to Durand and Gay Bivens who helped to plan and orchestrate the planning of the Homegoing Celebration and for Mayor Michael Alvarez for staying in constant contact and offering the support of the Town.

A public gathering of friends will be 11:00AM to 1:00PM Friday, October 16, 2020 in the Good Shepherd Chapel of Life and Legacy Funerals and Cremations; 6525 Old Monroe Rd., Indian Trail, NC. The Homegoing Celebration will be private.

"You're in my heart, you're in my soul. But now apart, no hand to hold. I won't forget the love you gave. I still can feel it to this day. I stand without you by my side, but know you're watching from way up high. We will meet again for this I'm sure, because our love will last and endure." Author Unknown
