On Saturday, May 2, 2020, Olga Eligia Hernández, loving wife and mother of two children, passed away at the age of 96.
Olga Eligia Hernández was born Saturday, December 1, 1923 in Santa Clara, Cuba to Julia Hernández and Amado Cuevas. She married a noble Cuban native, Guillermo Osiris Hernández and together they raised two sons, Guillermo Pedro Hernández and José Antonio Hernández.
Olga had a passion for dancing and cooking. She loved to move to rhythms of her Cuban music. She also ran a catering business with her mother while living in Cuba. She was well known for her delicious culinary creations, her grace, her compassionate spirit and her kind and sweet personality.
Olga was preceded in death by her husband Guillermo Osiris Hernández, and her first born, Guillmero Pedro Hernández. She is survived by person, José Antonio Hernández and his wife Tamara Esther Hernández, her granddaughter Elizabeth Pham and husband Huam Pham, and grandson, James Alvin Carter.
A service will be held 11:00AM Tuesday, May 5, 2020 in the Good Shepherd Chapel of Life and Legacy Funerals and Cremations; 6525 Old Monroe Rd, Indian Trail, with Father Benjamin of Our Lady of Lourdes presiding. The family will receive friends 10:00-10:55AM prior to the service. Burial will follow in Suncrest City Cemetery in Monroe.
