Neal Gabriel McLeod was born July 22, 1978 in Brooklyn, NY. He attended P S 208 Elementary School, Meyer Levine Junior High School and Tilden High School in NY. He also attended 2 years at Carolina Piedmont Community College in NC.
In 2002 Neal joined the US Army where he worked as a Patriot Missile FC Operator with the Patriot Missile Program. He was awarded National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and Army Service Medal. While in the Army one of his dreams came true, he did a tour in Egypt and was able to visit one of his favorite places, the pyramids, He also did a tour in England where he impressed his Army buddies, when his brother Dean who lives in England, showed them a good time in London. Neal was discharged from active duty in 2006.
Neal returned to New York and moved to the Bronx where he met his wife Dacia. Soon after twin boys where born, Neal and his family moved to North Carolina. His sons Nathaniel and Daniel or the BamBams as he affectionately called them were the highlight of his life. He tried to be the best father he could be under the circumstances. He was a strict and affectionate father.
Neal worked several security jobs in NY before coming to NC. While in NC he worked as a security guard at Red Ventures for 6 years.
Neal was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2017. He never gave up the fight. He was very informed and he was his biggest advocate when it came to his health. Neal succumbed to his illness on Monday, November 14, 2022 with his family members at his side. Neal will always be loved and missed in our family.

Neal is survived by his twin 12-year-old sons Nathaniel and Daniel and his wife Dacia, his mother Jean Vesprey McLeod and father Francis “Roosie” McLeod and his wife Venicia. Siblings Ryan and Dean McLeod and his nephew Ryan McLeod Jr, his uncles and aunts Claudette, Myrtle, Cheryl, Pat, Yvonne, Don, Orlando, Augustine, Tony, Howard, Lynette, Gabriel, Dan, Theresa, Francis, Earlyn, Franklyn, Patsy, Monica, Larry, Frankie, Andrea, Fitzroy, Frances, Udell, Johnny, Kenrick, Robin, David, Paul and Walter.
Cousins Janice, Patsy, Jenny, Kheisha, Leslie, Stacey, Jenelle, Julie, Halle, Alison, Lorraine, Wendy, Janet, Laqueen, Claudia, Tammy, Allison Jade, Jada, Melita Tracey, Angie, Wilma, Lori, Alex, Paul, Johnathan, Gabby, Jaden, Aaron, Jace, Vaughn, DJ, Ian, Richard, Billy, Hollis, Jasseem, Winston and all of their children.
A Memorial Service will be celebrated for Neal on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Life and Legacy’s Good Shepherd Chapel at 1:00 PM.
