Mate' Tanczos

Mate’ Tanczos, age 42, of Monroe, NC, went to be with his Lord and Savior on October 16, 2021. Mate’ was born on March 19, 1979 to Sandor and Borbola (Vig) Tanczos in Budapest, Hungary. He and his parents emigrated to the United States when Mate’ was a small boy. He honorably served his country in the US Army during Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan and attained the rank of Sergeant before his discharge.  Mate’ married the love of his life, Melanie Reagan, on June 21, 2008. He was a Senior Business Analyst with Xibion: Innovation Software Solutions.

Mate’ was a loving husband and father and a man who would give the shirt off of his back to anyone in need. As an accomplished woodworker, he designed and built furniture, took on home remodeling projects and could fix anything. He was known as an outstanding cook who made the best cheeseburgers, the most perfect juicy steak and mouth watering “pickle chicken”. He was very creative… just one of the many traits that he passed onto his children. Mate’ loved his beautiful bride of 13 years so, so much. Together, he and Melanie built a wonderful family. Four children whom he loved more than anything and all the  pets he said “yes” to adopting because it made his family happy. Mate’s presence, his smile, jokes, laughter and gentle touch will be so, so missed by everyone! Together they will now hold him in their hearts forever.

Mate’ was predeceased by his father. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Melanie, their four children Caleb, Savannah, Aaron and Lillian, his mother Borbola Vig Tanczos and his father in law and mother in law Ron and Connie Reagan.

A Celebration of Life  service will be held on Thursday, October 28th at 1:00 PM at Shiloh Baptist Church, 2301 North Rocky River Rd, Monroe, NC 28110. Interment will be at Salisbury National Cemetery, 501 Statesville Blvd, Salisbury, NC 28144. Arrangements are by Life and Legacy Funerals and Cremations, 6525 Old Monroe rd, Indian Trail, NC 28079.
