Mrs. Maria Luz Ahrens de Hunt, 79, passed away Thursday, June 18, 2020 in the Lake Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born May 9, 1941 in Buenos Aires, Argentina to Walter and Carola Copello Ahrens. She was preceded in death by her husband John S. Hunt as well as her parents.
Maria lived an amazing life, she was the daughter of the Argentinian Ambassador to Germany and during that time she was able to enjoy a private meeting with Pope John XXIII. She lived and went to school in Europe and spoke multiple languages fluently. She was well traveled and enjoyed spending time with family, especially at the beach.
Left to cherish her memory: son Christopher L. Hunt and wife Tammy of North Charleston, SC; daughter Whitney Hunt-Sailors and husband Greg Johnstone of Matthews; granddaughter Lauren Cordeiro and husband John; grandsons Jackson Hunt and Cody Sailors; great grandson Jack Cordeiro; her sister Carolina Ahrens of Argentina and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Hunt will be interred next to her husband during a private family gathering.
