Margaret Raye Jarrett, 88 of Monroe, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at the McWorter Hospice House of Union County surrounded by her family. Margaret was born on Thursday August 10, 1933 to Berry and Martha Irene (Barnes) Tedder in Spring Hill Township, Wilson County, North Carolina.
Margaret was a loving and caring mother and grandmother who took in 68 foster babies over the years. She had worked at Trailways and Greyhound Bus Lines in the ticket office and then as a waitress for many years at various establishments.
Margaret was predeceased by her mother and father, her sister Elizabeth Carol Bass, her brother Selby Gray Tedder and her daughter Patsy Deborah Ramsey. Left to cherish her memory are her son Dennis W Tedder and his wife Alma, her daughter Joan D Johnson, her son Johnny R Tedder, her sisters Beaulah M Ferrell, Elgie L Lamm, Mary O Capps, Martha J Durham and her husband Billy, Laureen Holland and her husband Paul, 18 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held for Margaret at the Upper Black Creek Baptist Church Cemetery on Upper Black Creek Baptist Church Rd, Lucama, Wilson County, North Carolina on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at 2 PM. Relatives and friends are invited.
