Mabel "Chris" Elizabeth Scavone, age 97, of Asheville, NC, passed away peacefully while under the care of Addison Nursing Facility on Saturday, February 17, 2024.Chris was born in New York, New York on Sunday, December 12, 1926 to Bert and Mae (Knorr) Guthrie.

Chris was a loving mother, grandmother and aunt who loved her family, She enjoyed cooking, needlepoint and volunteering. She worked and volunteered at seminary school.

Chris is predeceased by her mother and father and her husband Anthony Scavone. Left to cherish her memory are her son Anthony Scavone, her daughter Gayle Battles, her son Paul Scavone, her son John Scavone and his wife Angela her granddaughter Claire Scavone, her grandsons Mason and Jared Scavone as well as many nieces and nephews.

Services for Chris will be private and held at the convenience of her family.
