Lewis Coltren Obituary

The Reverend Lewis Arthur Coltren, 77, of Archdale, passed away Monday, August 17, 2020 in the High Point Medical Center. He was born September 15, 1942 in Mt Olive, NC to George and Reva Hare Coltren. His parents; daughters Rhonda Snyder and Pamela Logan and sisters Jane Buford, Ann Coltren and Delphia Foy preceded him in death.

Reverend Lewis aka "Papaw" enjoyed spreading the gospel as an Evangelist and serving on many Church Leadership teams. He served as a Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent and Assistant Pastor to local churches. He truly never met a stranger, if you were to ask him "how are you doing?" he would wittily respond "if I was any better you couldn't stand it!" He enjoyed talking to people about the Lord and winning many of them to the Kingdom of God. He was a man that would do for others and would treat them as family. He would lead any conversation with his witty charm and would quickly become the life of the party. Churches all over the country revered his ministry and he would bring the Word of God with a powerful message of hope. He served as Deacon for New Life Church at The Mission of High Point. Not only was he a fisher of men, he loved to take his boat to fish on Jordan Lake.  He will certainly be missed by all who knew him.

Left to cherish his memory: his beloved wife Doris Kearns Coltren; children Rev. Ricky Scott and wife Peggy, Lloyd Scott and wife Elizabeth, Paula Ball and husband Dale, Debbie Radford and husband Dale, Jennifer Calahan and husband Rick and Eddie Coltren and wife Amanda; siblings Larry Coltren, Bill Coltren, Jimmy Coltren, Dallas Coltren, Julie Phillips, Tammy Flowers, Toni Coltren and Randy Foy; 22 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren and his beloved Chihuahua Sweat Pea aka "Baby Girl".
