Larry Dale Cunningham

Larry Dale Cunningam, age 78, a life long resident of Indian Trail, North Carolina, went home to be with the Lord after a short stay at Hospice of Monroe.

Larry was born on Saturday, April 10, 1943 in Union County to Carroll and Billie Cunningham. He was a member of the last graduating class of Indian Trail High School in June of 1961. Larry was married to Gail Sheaff.

Larry provided for his family by being a valued and well respected employee of the Rexham Corporation for 40 plus years. Even coming out of retirement to further assist the company and it's need for his knowledge of certain machines and procedures.

Larry loved the Lord and his loving wife. He loved all people and especially his family. He was easy to laugh and never took things too seriously. He was an avid fisherman and over the course of his life, baited more hooks for friends, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren than is possible to count. He got so much joy from the simple things in life, being with family, fishing, NASCAR, football, sitting on the porch, walking the creek and enjoying an old fashioned classic can of Pepsi.

He was loved dearly by so many and will be deeply missed. Larry was preceded in death by his father Julius Carroll Cunningham, a granddaughter, Morgan Paige Cunningham and a great grandson Joey Cunningham.

Larry is survived by his wife, Gail Cunningham, 3 children, Scott Cunningham and his wife Jennifer, of Indian Trail, Todd Cunningham of Monroe, and Tracy Tucker and her husband Monty of Monroe. He was also survived by 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, his mother, Billie Cunningham of Indian Trail and a sister, Kay Parker of Newton, NC.

Services for Larry will be private and held at the convenience of the family.

The family has requested that memorial contributions be made in Larry's name to Hospice of Union County, 700 W Roosevelt Blvd, Monroe, NC 28110.
