Joseph Michael Moriarty, age 61, of Indian Land, South Carolina passed away peacefully Monday,January 15, 2024 surrounded by his family at his residence. He was born in Quincy, Massachusetts, on Monday, June 18, 1962 to Robert and Irene (McCann) Moriarty and raised in Hingham, Massachusetts, recently moving to South Carolina to enjoy being near his children and grandchildren. Known to many as Joe, but fondly remembered by his many other nicknames such as Joey, Moe, Moey, JoJo and most especially his newest name, Pops to his 3 grandchildren. Of all his hobbies, talents and activities, his family times were always what he enjoyed the most.
Joe was a loyal husband, father, grandfather and friend and cherished his relationships. Joe was employed with ATI Inc upon moving to South Carolina and previously employed with Newly Weds Foods in Watertown, Massachusetts for many years. Joe was predeceased by his wonderful parents Robert & Irene Moriarty, as well as his brother Daniel Moriarty. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of almost 35 years, Kristen (Reichel) Moriarty and their three sons: Ryan Moriarty and his wife Christina, Patrick Moriarty and his wife Kirsten and his youngest son Brendon Moriarty, by his dearly loved grandchildren Brady, Avery and Robbie, by his siblings James Moriarty and his wife Dawn of Iowa, Eileen Moriarty of Massachusetts and Robert Moriarty and his wife Katie of Massachusetts as well as many nieces and nephews. Friends and Family are invited to attend a celebration of life service to be held January 27, 2024 from 3:00 to 5:00pm at Life & Legacy's Good Shepherd Chapel.
