Mr. John Frederick Alepa, 77, of Indian Trail, passed away Friday, August 21, 2020 at his residence. He was born June 7, 1943 in Englewood, NJ to Frank and Carmelina "Mildred" Maiuzzo Alepa. He received his Bachelor's degree from Georgetown University and his Master's from Stevenson University. He retired from the US Postal Service as the Director of International Pricing. He was married to the former Helen Lane. He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Mildred Alepa; brother Dr. Francis Alepa; sister Patricia Bernauer and granddaughter Hailey Elizabeth Alepa.
Mr. Alepa was proud of his Sicilian heritage and would spend endless hours studying the genealogy of the Alepa and Lane families. He loved his grandchildren dearly and enjoyed reading with them and teaching them math and Spanish. He had a love for collecting baseball, basketball and football cards and passed that love to his grandson Landon. He also collected stamps and coins. The Washington Football Team, formerly "Redskins", Yankees Baseball and Georgetown University Hoyas Basketball. He loved all animals especially his Belgian Malinois Shepherd, "Prince".
Left to cherish his memory: His beloved wife Helen Alepa; sons Frank Paul Alepa and wife Rae and John Robert Alepa, Sr and wife Katherine; grandchildren Skylar Raye, Peyton Ann, Landon Jonathon, John Robert Alepa, Jr, Anthony Ferdinando Alepa, Blaise Alepa and several nieces and nephews.
The family will gather for a memorial service at a later scheduled date.
