Joan Ward George

Joan Ward George, age 70, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 18, 2021 surrounded by her family. Joan was born on Tuesday, September 19, 1950 in Brooklyn, NY to James and Helen (Noblett) Ward.  She and her husband of 45 years Richard K George Sr were married on Saturday January 25, 1975 In Brooklyn.  Joan and Richard moved to Indian Trail in 2014.

Joan was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister who never missed a game or a performance of any of her children or grandchildren. She was a writer and a voracious reader who also enjoyed passing time watching her favorite programs on television. She was predeceased by her mother and father and by her sister Eileen Ward and her brother James Ward.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband Richard, her daughter Victoria and her husband Jaime Kauffman, her sons Richard K Jr and his wife Lauren George and Anthony and his wife Mary George, her sister Ellenjane and her husband Robert Gonyea 5 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Joan will be private and held at the convenience of her family. Arrangements are by Life and Legacy Funerals and Cremations 6525 Old Monroe Rd Indian Trail, NC 28079.
