James David Barnaby, 79 of Monroe, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at the Atrium Health Medical Center in Monroe with Joan, his loving wife of forty-three years by his side. James was born on Monday, February 12, 1942 to Joseph and Marie (Norman) Barnaby in Pittsfield, MA. He honorably served the United States in the Army and ultimately was a supervisor at General Electric in Pittsfield, MA.
James was a loving husband, father and grandfather who was an avid antique car enthusiast. He and his wife had been members of the Hornets Nest Antique Car Club and he loved to go fishing in both salt and fresh water. James was predeceased by his mother and father and all 6 of his siblings as well as a grandson Aaron Barnaby-Lentz. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Joan (Horamanski) Barnaby, a son Theron J Barnaby and his wife Donna, 2 daughters, Melissa Loewe and Renee Long and her husband Robert, 2 grandsons Taylor and Tanner Pannozzo and 2 grandaughters, Briana and Alyssa Long.
Services for James will be private and held at the convenience of his family. Arrangements are by Life and Legacy Funerals and Cremations, 6525 Old Monroe Rd, Indian Trail, NC 28079.
