Hector Luis Rodriguez Sr

Hector Luis Rodriguez, age 65, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at Novant Health Medical Center in Charlotte surrounded by his family. Hector was born on Friday, January 13, 1956 to Evaristo and Lucia (Pena) Rodriguez. He was married to his loving wife of 43 years, Nelida Lebron on July 22, 1978. Hector honorably served the United States of America for 18 years in the US Army retiring as a Staff Sergeant. Following his military career he continued to serve his country through the US Postal Service.

Hector was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed all sports but particularly his beloved New York Jets and Mets, as well as the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame. He also enjoyed watching old western movies and TV shows, such as Bonanza.

Hector was predeceased by his mother and father, a brother Mario Fonseca and a sister Alicia Fonseca. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Nelida Rodriguez, his son Hector L Rodriguez Jr and his wife Angela, his daughter Erica Rodriguez and her husband Rudolph, 2 Brothers David and Miguel Rodriguez 4 grandchildren Alexis Rodriguez, Hector L Rodriguez III (Trey), Lucia Alicia Rodriguez and Journey Seth.

A celebration of Hectors life will be held on Monday, October 11, 2021 with a visitation at 11:00 AM at Life and Legacy's Good Shepherd Chapel followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM officiated by Deacon Jim Hamrlik of St Matthew Roman Catholic Church in Charlotte. Interment will follow at the US National Cemetery in Salisbury, NC. Arrangements are by Life and Legacy Funerals and Cremations, 6525 Old Monroe Rd, Indian Trail, NC 28079.
