Galina (Cherenkova) Shtrigel

Galina Shtrigel, age 73, passed away peacefully at her home in Charlotte on Thursday, July 27, 2023 while surrounded by her loving family. Galina was born in Russia on Monday, January 2, 1950 to Aleksey and Taisiya (Kizikova) Cherenkov. She was married to Valentin Shtrigel.

Galina was a loving wife, sister mother and grandmother who loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed knitting and gardening.

Galina is was predeceased by her mother and father. She was one of 17 children. left to cherish her memory are her husband Valentin Shtrigel, her daughter Olga Shtrigel and her husband Sergey Selyavo, Her daughter Tanya Nafatyuk and her husband Victor, her daughter Luda Yakimenko and her husband Alex, her son Alex Shtrigel and his wife Julia, her daughter Valentina Yermolin and her husband Vitaliy, her daughter Luba Shtrigel and her significant other Arelio, her daughter Jessica Steinacker and her husband Josh, her grandchildren Raynay Purvis and her husband Bobby, Kelly Irkin and her significant other Jon Macias, Dany Nafatyuk, Emily Nafatyuk, Vanessa Yakimenko, Alex Yakimenko Jr, Andre Shtrigel, Slavik Shtrigel, Max Shtrigel, Zarina Yermolin, Katana Shtrigel, Liam Steinacker and Emery Steinacker.

A celebration of Galina's life will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at Life and Legacy's Good Shepherd Chapel beginning with a visitation at 10:00 AM followed by a service at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery 4426 Central Ave, Charlotte, NC 28206.
