Emma Mae (Williams) Bennett

Emma Mae Bennett, age 84, of Indian Trail, NC passed into the arms of her Lord on June 26, 2022 while in the care of Union Hospice and surrounded by her loving family. Emma was born on Saturday, March 26, 1938 to Adam and Rebecca (McNeil) Williams. She was married to Laurence R Bennett.

Emma was a loving daughter, sister, wife and aunt who graduated from Jefferson High School in 1957 where she played basketball and sang with the Glee Club. She loved watching basketball and football as well as listening to music. She loved to shop at Macy's where she bought suits and hats and white shirts were a must.

Emma was predeceased by her parents, her loving husband Laurence R Bennett, her brothers Ernest Lee McNeil, Adam Williams and David Williams and a sister Mary Helen Williams. Left to cherish her memory are her sisters Hedy Ivey, Mary Burris and her husband Joe. Hattie Currence, Alberta Carall, Anna Osair and Shirley Williams, her brothers Adam Williams and his wife Hattie, Joe Williams, Paul Williams and his wife Phyllis and Bobby Williams, a sister-in-law Gwen Dean, many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family as well as her faithful dog TeeGee.

A celebration of Emma's life will be held at Life and Legacy's Good Shepherd Chapel on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 beginning with a visitation at 11:00 AM followed by a funeral service at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, 4426 Central Ave, Charlotte, NC 28205.
