Doris Jean (Baucom) Harris

Mrs. Doris Jean Baucom Harris, 72, of Monroe passed away Saturday, March 7, 2020. She was born April 25, 1947 to Oscar Lee and Verla Mae Helms Baucom, Sr in Oakboro, NC. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings and husband Frank Harris. 

Mrs. Harris  enjoyed shopping, cooking, going to flea markets and working in her yard especially her rose garden. She was a loving and kind mother, grandmother and great grandmother. 

To cherish her memory are her children Jeff Helms, Juanita Edwards (Norman), Teresa Carter (Aaron), and Jackie Deese; grandchildren John Edwards (Sarah), Sheena Glasson (Daniel), Rebecca Holmes (Josh), Chandlor Edwards, Emily Carter, Sarah Carter and Jessica Deese; great grandchildren David, Savannah, Patrick, Matthew, Joey, Andrew, McKenzie, Aubrey, Harper, Nathan, Joshua, Bailee and Benjamin and her beloved dog Pepper. 

Memorial Service will be 2:00pm Monday, March 9, 2020 in the Good Shepherd Chapel of Life and Legacy Funerals and Cremations; 6525 Old Monroe Rd, Indian Trail; with Chaplain Don Rhyne officiating. The family will receive friends 1:00pm-2:00pm prior to the service.
