Donald Ray Deese, age 80, passed into the arms of his Lord on December 31, 2021 while being cared for by Community Home Care and Hospice, surrounded by his loving family. Donald was born on Friday, November 7, 1941 in Monroe to William A and Carrie (Helms) Deese. Donald was married to Delores A Horne and he worked for Southeastern Exterminators for over 30 years.
Donald was a loving husband, father and grandfather who loved to play blue grass music. He had the opportunity to play with Raymond Fairchild at the Maggie Valley Opera house. He had also played with Arthur Smith. Donald is enshrined in the Blue Grass Hall of Fame.
Donald is predeceased by his parents and all of his siblings but one.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Delores A Deese, his sons Rodney R Deese and his wife Crystal, and Richard E Deese and his wife Donna, his brother Homer E Deese and his wife Lou Ellen,grand daughters Whitney Rhodes and Savannah Webb, his grandson Lucas C Perez and three great grandchildren Alexander, Rhyann and Memphis,
A celebration of Donald's life will be held at Life and Legacy's Good Shepherd Chapel on Thursday, January 6, 2022 beginning with a visitation at 11:00 AM followed by a funeral service at 12 noon. Interment will immediately follow at Lakeland Memorial Gardens, 1901 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe, NC 28112.
