Charles Williams

Charles Williams, age 89, of Monroe  passed away peacefully while in the care of Novant Health Medical Center of Matthews surrounded by his loving family. Charles was born in Philadelphia, PA on Sunday, March 18, 1934  to Charles and Wylie Mae (Howie) Williams. He was married to Janice A (Lockwood) Williams.

Charles was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who was devoted to his family, liked to travel and cooking. He said that none of his daughters would leave his house without knowing how to cook. He enjoyed playing pinochle and ministry and was known to be a jokester.

Charles was predeceased by his parents and his brothers Leonard and Bernard. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Janice, his son Larry Sharp, his daughter Sharon Williams, his son Wayne Williams and his wife Renee, his daughter Charlene Moore and her husband David, his daughter Antoinette Coleman and her husband Joseph, his daughter Carol Flamer and her husband James, his daughter Cheryl Lawson and her husband Barry, his daughter Deborah Toliver, his son Mark Williams and his wife Cheryl,  24 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Services for Charles will be private and held at the convenience of his family.
