Betty Jo (Belk) Tarlton

Betty Belk Tarlton of Charlotte, NC was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 11, 2023. Betty, 89, was a homemaker, who, while raising her three children, assisted her husband with his cabinet business. She spent summers in the garden raising vegetables and countless hours canning or freezing those vegetables. She was talented at sewing beautiful, professional looking clothes, baking and decorating cakes, making candies for the holidays, and serving up the best home cooking anywhere. She loved her family members unconditionally and was truly a Proverbs 31 woman. Those left to cherish her memory include daughter, Carol Cranford and her husband Ron, son, Rommy Tarlton and wife Marta, daughter, Nancy Burton and husband Mike; grandchildren, Carrie Cranford, Miranda Dues, Shelley Burton, Zack Tarlton, and Haley Gross; brother, Bill Belk, and sister, Ann Bassett. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Brady Tarlton; parents, Glenn and Margaret Belk; brother, Jerry Belk; and grandson, Nathan Cranford.

A celebration of Betty’s life is scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 16 at Life and Legacy Funerals and Cremations, 6525 Old Monroe Road, Indian Trail, NC. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 10:45 before the service. Pastor Mike Whitson of First Baptist Church of Indian Trail will be officiating the services. Burial will follow immediately after the service at Charlotte Memorial Gardens, 7632 Hood Rd, Charlotte, NC. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Next Generation Fund, c/o First Baptist Church of Indian Trail, where Betty was a member for over 40 years.
