Ms. Betty Viola Johnson Ivester, 83, of Whiteside Drive, Elberton, passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, at her son’s residence in Monroe, NC.
Ms. Betty was born in Elberton on April 5, 1937, daughter of the late Ralph Thomas Johnson and Janie Lee Davis Johnson. She retired after 43 years of employment at Dairy Queen of Elberton. She was a member of Elberton Church of God.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Ray and Shea Ivester, daughter and son-in-law: Sylvia and Ray Gaines brother and sister-in-law: Alvin and Lane Johnson; sisters: Vera Ingram, Faye Yearwood; grandchildren: Michael Gaines, Lori Ivester, Brenna Ivester and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Sunday, January 10, at 2 o’clock in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with Rev. James Gunn officiating. Interment will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery with Dale Ingram, Keith Ingram, Shane Johnson, Joey Norris, Kevin Driver and Dakota Carey serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 1PM to 2PM just prior to the service at Berry Funeral Home.
The family will be at the home on Whiteside Dr. Elberton, GA.
