Thomas Henry Fontana

Mr Thomas Henry Fontana, 76, passed away August 3, 2019 and Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center of Matthews. Mr. Fontana was born December 2, 1942 to Joseph and Olga Korsiak Fontana in Manhattan, NY. On May 20, 1983 Tom married the former Abigail Rios. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Eugene and Joseph Fontana.

Tom was known for his big heart and how he loved people; he was always doing for others. He was a NASCAR and NHRA fan and raced cars himself while a member of Long Island Car Association. Tom was excellent with his hands, whether working on cars or carpentry work; he loved to garden and play golf.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 36 years, Abigail; sons Joseph Fontana (Jennifer), James Fontana (Renee) and Michael Fontana; stepsons Edward Vilar (Cathy), Robert Vilar (Allison); step-daughters Susan Strensdut (Wayne) and Jennifer Fontana (Joseph); 16 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. 

The family will gather with friends 7:30-9:00pm Wednesday, August 7, 2019 in the Good Shepherd Chapel of Life and Legacy Funerals and Cremations; 6525 Old Monroe Rd, Indian Trail, NC 28079.
