Michael Harkey

Mr. Michael Harkey, 65, of Wesley Chapel, passed away March 13, 2019 in the Presbyterian Novant Medical Center of Charlotte. He was born May 25, 1953 to Olin and Ona Harkey in Monroe. He was a self-employed landscaper owning Harkey Services. Mike was a lifelong member of Siler Presbyterian Church in Matthews. He loved the Atlanta Braves baseball team and coached Little League in Weddington for many years. He played Rock n Roll music playing the drums and guitar.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Ronnie Harkey who was killed in 1969 while serving in Vietnam.

His family are is wife Becky; sons John and Michael and his grandson John Wiley Harkey.

A Memorial Service for Mike will be 7:00pm Monday, March 18 in the Sanctuary of Siler Presbyterian Church, 6301 Weddington Monroe Rd, Matthews. Immediately following the service, meet the family in the Fellowship Hall for a "Safe at Home" Gathering. Come with your favorite "Mike Stories" and share with his boys and enjoy some of his favorite foods.
