Mr. Lloyd Henry Edwards, 85, of Indian Trail, passed away in the early morning Friday, May 17, 2019 in the Carolinas Medical Center, Northeast hospital in Concord. He was born February 16, 1934 to John Wesley and Nancy Edwards in Ramseytown, NC. He later married the late Velma Locklear Edwards who passed away November 11, 2011. Lloyd spent his working time as a welder in fabrication but his joy was in farming. Mr. Edwards served the US Army during the Korean Conflict.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers Baby Boy, Freeman and Furman Edwards and sisters Ann Ayers, Joy Linville and Martha Killman.
Left to cherish his memory are his children Norman Edwards (Juanita), Larry Edwards (Pam), Sherry Edwards Sutton (Henry) and Sharon Edwards Rorie; grandchildren Leanne Rorie, John Edwards, Sheena Glasson, Gail Rorie, Rebecca Holmes, Tiffany Hicks, Katie Edwards, his great-grandchildren Kara, Chandlor, Austin, Blaine, Bristol, Justice, Savanah, David, Patrick, Matthew, Aubrey, McKenzie, Joey and Andrew; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be 7:00pm Tuesday, May 21 in the Good Shepherd Chapel of Life and Legacy Funerals and Cremations, 6525 Old Monroe Rd, Indian Trail; with Dr. Chris Baucom officiating. The family will receive friends 5:00pm-6:45pm prior to the service. A graveside service will be 1:00pm Wednesday, May 22 in the Edwards Family Cemetery, 2510 Coxes Creek Rd. Burnsville, NC. The Patriot Guard Riders will Honor Mr. Edwards during the visitation and funeral.
