Larry Stogner Obituary

Mr. Larry DeWayne Stogner, 70, of Matthews passed away August 3, 2019 in the Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center in Charlotte. He was born September 28, 1948 to Robert H. Stogner and Rosa Mae Faile Stogner in Mecklenburg County. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Corey D. Stogner and brother Wade Stogner.

Larry was a member of First Baptist Church of Indian Trail where he once taught Sunday School and a member of AITBOC Life Group, he loved the Bible and his church very much. He never met a stranger and would give the shirt off his back. Larry was an avid Tar Heel and NASCAR fan. He was non-judgmental and loved his family very much.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Cathy Starnes Stogner; son Jason Stogner (Mandi; granddaughters Sadie Stogner and Cori Scruggs; twin sister Linda Fogleman; nephews Robbie Fogleman and Jonathan Starnes; nieces Kim Schwab (Mike) and Devon Szymanski (Matt); brother in law and best friend Johnny Starnes (Kim) and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral Service will be 7:00pm Tuesday, August 6 in the Sanctuary of First Baptist Church, Indian Trail with Dr. Mike Whitson officiating. The family will gather to receive friends 5:00-6:50pm prior to the service.
