Kenneth Howe Obituary

Kenneth Wesley Howe, 82, of Indian Trail, NC passed away Wednesday, December 04, 2019 at Novant Health Medical Center of Matthews surrounded by his family.  He was born on March 6, 1937 in Cleveland Ohio to Thurlow and Ruth Howe. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Joann.

Ken enlisted in the Army Reserve January 24, 1955, was part of the 83rd Infantry Division and carried the rank of Sergeant. He was honorably discharged November 21, 1963.

Ken worked and traveled as a combustion engineer and also as an insurance adjuster. He designed and built his home as well as round houses throughout the area. He enjoyed traveling the world with his wife, cooking and restoring classic cars. He was actively involved in the Indian Trail community as the local "Uncle Sam" during parades and elections. 

Left to cherish his memory, his beloved wife Shirley, daughter Beth and husband Tony of Indian Land SC, daughter Cathy and husband Scott of Peachtree City GA, stepdaughter Cathy and husband Larry of Toccoa GA, stepdaughter Sue and partner Holt of Roan Mountain TN and stepson Kenneth of Tucson, AZ. Grandchildren, Taylor, Wesley, Jocelyn, Alexandra, Kimberly and Brian and six great grandchildren. Sister Joyce and husband Jim of Berea, OH, brother Jimmy and wife Linda of Parma, OH, several nieces and nephews and life long friend Fisk Outwater.  

Due to the excellent care and compassion of the entire nursing staff at Novant Health Matthews,
in lieu of flowers, we are requesting memorial donations be made to: Novant Health Hospice, P.O. Box 33549, Charlotte, N.C. 28233

Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
