Johnny Tarlton Obituary

Mr. Johnny McDonald Tarlton, 79, of Indian Trail, passed away Monday, December 31, 2018 in the Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center of Charlotte. Born July 6, 1939 in Matthews to William D. and Margret C. Smith Tarlton and spent most of his career as a Postal Service Carrier after retiring he returned to work for American Community Bank as the Courier. Mr. Tarlton served in the United States Army as a MP. He married Agnes "Aggie" Hildegard Schultes 59 years ago. He was a Member of First Baptist Church, Indian Trail where he was a Deacon and was in the Believers Sunday School Class. In addition, he was a member of the VFW of Monroe, The American Legion, and the Letter Carriers Association.

He was preceded in death by his Parents; his Brothers Jimmy and Brady Tarlton and Sisters Dottie Bethea, Nellie Shields and Margaret Starnes.

Left to Celebrate his Memory are his Wife Aggie of the home; Daughters Janet Helms (Joey) of Matthews, Pat Hornaday (Rocky) of Indian Trail, and Ramona Taylor of Monroe; Grandchildren Kristen Esposito (Steve), Ashley Vincent (Jon), Kayla Mackey (DJ), Rocky Hornaday, Jr. (Jenn) and Shelby Johnson (Michael); Great-Grandchildren Riley, Bryson, Cayden, Caden, Addison, Ella Grace, Ben, Eli, Damon, Reeve, and Emery; and Brother Dewitt Tarlton; Sisters Betty Lee Starnes and Doris Staton; and his favorite of all, his Dog Bandit.

Homegoing Celebration Service will be 2:00pm Thursday, January 3, 2019 in the Sanctuary of First Baptist Church; 732 Indian Trail Fairview Rd, Indian Trail with Dr. Mike Whitson officiating. The family will gather with friends 12:30pm to 1:45pm prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
