Billy Lee Baucom, 84, of Indian Trail, entered into new life on Thursday, November 22, 2018 at home. He was born December 6, 1933 in Mecklenburg county. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend; he will be greatly missed. Billy was a charter member of First Baptist Church Indian Trail. He served as a deacon of the church and also was the very first choir director of First Baptist Church Indian Trail. He was Alderman of Hemby Bridge and helped organize the Town of Hemby Bridge. He loved his family and was very proud of them. He leaves behind his precious wife Janie Simpson Baucom of 64 years. He served in the US Army; Fort Jackson, Columbia, SC. He was the Sr. Vice President for 37 years at Biggers Brother, he retired in 1991.
Funeral Service is scheduled for Sunday, November 25, 2018 at First Baptist Church Indian Trail, 732 Indian Trail Fairview Road, Indian Trail, NC 28079 at 3:00pm. Family will receive friends from 1:30pm until service time. The family asks in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to; Union County Hospice or First Baptist Church Indian Trail building fund.
Those left to cherish his memories; wife, Janie Simpson Baucom; son, Teddy Baucom and wife Bobbi; grandchildren, Holly Baucom, Linsey Winchester and husband Zack, Mallory Baucom, Abby Baucom; great-grandchildren, Noah Baucom Farley and another on the way; brother, Don Baucom and wife Catherine; sister, Frances Presson and husband Johnny.
He is preceded in death by; his parents, Roy and Vangie Baucom; sister, Joyce Hefner.
